With regard to criminal compensation, Section 24 of the Criminal Offence Victims Act 1995 provides that the court may order compensation for someone injured by personal offence. However the amount comprising the compensation is limited and the “compensation order” may only order the payment of a total amount not more then the prescribed amount (the “Scheme Maximum”)
